First Kegs

So I made a step in the right direction to move from bottling to kegging, I bought my first batch of kegs.

Corny Kegs

A fellow BeerAdvocate I met at Guy’s house during his stout tasting was Aaron (leftmindedrighty). He lives in the Philadelphia area and works part time at the local homebrew store by him Keystone Homebrew Supply. We were talking about kegs and he said he could always get them through Keystone. He mentioned a fair price so I asked him to pick me up four. So yesterday at the Drafting Room we made the exchange. I can’t wait to play with these guys. I think the Abbey Ale and RYPA will be the first two in kegs.

    Saweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!

If you want to discuss methods for cleaning them up and rebuilding them, just let me know… I’ve got the deep sockets for pulling the posts & poppets, and Barkeeper’s Friend really does wonders on the outside.

Does this mean that you’ve got a kegerator planned too?

Right now the kegs are under pressure so I know they seal, but I still got new gaskets and o-rings to replace the ones that are on there now. Yeah, I’ll probably bug you about your typical procedures are refurbishing a new keg.

Yeah I’ve been tucking a little bit back to save for a kegerator. It is really an expense that we don’t need so I want to make sure it has as little impact as possible. I am thinking of one similar to yours, the Sanyo 1206 dual faucet.

    Hopefully it’ll be soon.
