In the tradition of the Franconian region of Germany a Maerzen/Oktoberfest style beer made with malts kilned over moist beechwood log embers, imparting a smoky flavor and aroma to the beer. This beer is indigenous to Bamberg, Germany.

In the tradition of the Homebrew region of the USA a dark/Porter style beer made with the addition of Liquid Smoke or similar substitute, imparting a smokiness to the beer for beginners.

Used this beer to make a very deep smoked black bean chili - YUM!
