This is the bottle-conditioned version of what is also known as a dry stout. Historically this style evolved from attempts to capitalize on the success of London porters, but reflected a more "stout" body. This irish stout should have a flavor that is similar to Guinness but with reduced bitterness and more malt flavor. A very clean, precise malt flavor.

This beer did horribly in compotition, everyone repeatedly said it needed more malt, more roastiness. So for the HOPS BOPS i entered it in the brown porter category and it was recieved much better - go figure!?
