D.C. Lager
Batch Number: 59
Type: Amber Lager
Alc Percent: 3.00%
Notes & Comments:
(side bar) "The D.C. Lager, in honor of Mr. David Carson, is the first Fool Circle beer to be made in the new "Signiture Series" development. The D.C. Lager is an Amber Ale similar to a Samual Adams Lager. It features both Hallertauer & Tettnanger hops. A soft malt flavor combined with an interesting hop finish."
As it says, this was the first of the small run in the Signiture Series. Basically, D.C. and I were at DFH having a few Snowblowers when he asked me about brewing a lager (his favorite style of beer.) I explained that I would be interested, but that I had not done so in like 4 years, and that I didn't quite have the right equipment to do so. We made the agreement that he would pay for the ingredients and I would brew the beer, and in the end we would split the yield, about a case a piece. Others heard about this and wanted in, hence the Signiture Series was born - me trying to brew "to order" a beer for someone else. Good because I could save my money for new equipment, practice brweing, and a challenge is always good. Not so good because the stress level to meet expectations was all over the place.
Other beers in the Signiture Series are: The Licorice Stout II, Anise in Wonderland, the Angler Amber ALe, and the Liberty Ale II.
